Here you go :cool:  To my eye the spot in the knot looked just like the rest. This section of the wire must be pretty well preserved.

Original wiring on a GE Whiz. The tan is faded while the green was pulled out of the base where it had been protected. The broken fibers show what many GE cord colors may have been. I'd like to see twisted pair in the khaki (faded green) and something like this green.

On second thought I would prefer wires just like these in both colors. I'd use them for power cords as well as for two wire headwires. And I still prefer the khaki twisted pair for early fans.
