This beautiful GE floor fan and the little Vornado were given to me by a dear friend when she went into an assisted living home. The GE is a very heavy floor fan with a telescopeing post, it oscillates and runs fantastic although a bit hot and should be rewired for safety.
The Vornado also runs and I have loved it because it is so silent. It also should be rewired.
I would like to know more about them and am shocked how I can find nothing on line (other than your picture of the Vornado)
I am also moving overseas with my family shortly and need to find new homes for them so I am looking for interested parties...

| Hello, could you please reply again. My first account was cancelled I think because I did not leave a space between my first and last name so now I can not access the message you sent me. Sorry.

Those GE fans always run hot pretty much. It is likely fine unless the wiring looks actually rotten or the rubber line cord is cracking it is likely just fine. I have 2 Vortalex fans that are likely from the same era that still have the original brown cloth headwire that I run daily. (one from 1947 the other from 1950) the one from 1947 I had to replace the line cord on because the rubber was deteoriating but the original cloth headwire is just fine.
If anything the fan probably just needs a good sound cleaning and re-lube and a grease replacement to guard it from excessive wear and ensure it will run for another good 50 years or so.

| Thank you for all of this info. I really want to keep this fan, I love it but we are moving overseas. I will have to ask my brother again if he would hold/use it.
