OUCH!! !!! Have you ever got your fingers cut by a moving fan blade? I have, today, I was going to check the temperature of the motor of my Kenmore desk fan with my hand, and my hand slipped right into the blade! The fan still works and the blades are still balanced, and my fingers are OK! !

| Luke, you may be lucky. I think it was Doug Handley who posted a picture of his finger after an encounter with a 16" brass blade. BLOOD and open skin. Can you top that with photos?

B,S, and T
While I haven't left a lot of B on fans, I have left a lot of BST on a lot of other projects.
Just makes the final project all that sweeter.

Actually it was a 12 inch 1901 GE pancake. The bad part was I got my finger into the back of the cage after turning the fan speed down. My nail still hasn't completely grown back.Attached Image (viewed 137 times):

My brother in law's white German Shepherd (basically a tongue with eyes) got a little nip from my Signal Cool Spot fan today. The blades are fine (they're pretty beefy material and it was a very light ting!), so the fan's OK which is what really matters.
My Basset Hound / Beagle mix knows much better. He lays in front of them to cool down, he has never tried to stick his nose in the blades. I love having a smart dog.

I managed to get six stiches by checking the bearings after asembling a small fan that I was putting together for my wife. It was a small chrome MasterCraft that she thought was cute. I did not get the before pictures but here is the next day as I started to service a Westy.
OUCH! Brad.

He said it didn't taste good and that it flogged his tongue...
