Adam, Pull the oil cup before installing. Then put the oil cup back on making sure the wick goes back in the hole straight. I think that be your problem.

| Good thought but the cup is empty, I threw away the old wick when I started doing the restoration. But I'll take out the cup anyway just to see what happens. I think I see dents on the edge of the rotor shaft. I tried taking a photo of it but it didn't work

Well, if there's dents in it, the opposites sides are most likely bulged out. So I'd do a bit of sanding on that shaft again. I think if it's that bad I'd start with 220 sandpaper and finish it off with 600-800. If you've got a drill press you can put the rotor in to sand it or a hand drill motor and a vise, that would be the better way to sand that shaft down to keep it round.

| I don't have a drill press or a vise (live in a apartment so I don't have a ton of space) so can I just a piece of sandpaper rap it around and sand that way?

That'll be fine Adam. I didn't always have a drill press and such and had to do things by hand also.

Well, Ya don't, Larry's gotta do that. But when you want to add something to your original post all you have to do is to reply to your own, instead of starting another post on the same subject. Just so you'll know in the future. That way we don't clutter up the forum.

| Adam, while you can't delete your posts you can edit them to add or delete parts of any post at any time and can add a photo, too, if you want to. It's a pretty simple and easy to use forum format if not perfect.
