Does anyone happen to know who won this very rare and unusual DL Bates & Bro. fan catalog on eBay?  If anyone has an inkling, please PM me.  I would really have liked to gotten a better look at this.

Call me ignorant, but something really looks strange about that stuff... it seems like it's a vintage reproduction or reprinting of an actual antique, maybe to refresh a record that some company was holding.

I don't think I've ever seen 100+ year old paper that white and crisp. The blue typewriter ink on the letter is kind of funny too...

Just useless ramblin' :hammer:

Who is Norman Bates?

And, speaking about Bates fans, I can't recall having seen one but they were prominently mentioned in American Electrician at the turn of the century.

Who has the survivors of Bates fans. Can you post some photos? Did they make AC or DC fans or both? When did they start and stop making fans?

It was an attempt at humor on my part.

You can't tell me you've never seen the Alfred Hitchcock movie "Psycho", he's a character played by the late Anthony Perkins. On the note of those movies, you do see a nice Pullman Green GE Loophandle oscillator with brass blades.

That must be a movie that I missed along with many others. Don't remember seeing it and I don't remember seeing Alan's Bates fan. What else do you have in hiding in San Carlos Alan? Thanks for the photo and what a neat and different fan.

I think they floated down the river in the Dayton flood of 12 or was it 13? I'm not sure though.
