I just finished my 24" pedestal vorty to join the ceiling hung 24" model. With both of them on, the garage has some serious wind currents. Hopefully I can get my son to show me how to move pictures from the camera to the PC tonight & I will post some pics.
Many, many thanks to the following who made this possible:
John Fengel for finding it & arranging for me to pick it up. Also for putting me on the proper paint for the motor & pedestal.
Adrian Parrado for getting me the proper cage.
Paul Foster for getting me on the proper blade paint.
Thanks guys, she looks great!!!!

Adrian, I asked the same question some weeks earlier. Russ had posted a picture of his orginal Vorty 24" pedestal on page 3 of the forum under the posting entitled "How to Remove The Pedestal Pole From The Base".
Looks like the fan blade, top collar, and bottom cap are the same dark taupe.

Stan, I like it, I like it, very nice......and as you mentioned earlier, they make a sweeeeeeeeeeet sound and move a ton of air. Now you will have to start on your ceiling mount Vorty brother!
Just in anticipation of these great pics, I have been out in the garage working on disassembly and stripping the paint on my Vorty pedestal. I am beginning to see this will take a while but should be well worth the effort.

Didn't the Vorty originally have a rubber cord and covered cloth headwire? My FM12V1 (same as pictured) had what I believed was the original rubber cord and cloth headwire (both are in excellent condition) Much of the base felt is also intact, with a few small patches missing.

Yes Nicholas. I posted Bert's fan for the repaint...not the cords. I don't know about you Nic..... but I kinda like those cloth cords on Bert's fan.
Nice Fan Stan!

Stan, You (and Russ telling me to get off my rear) gave me incentive to finally begin restoration my large Vorty pedestal. I am in the process of reassembly and will post a pic or two when completed. Everything is is cleaned and painted except the blade.....cannot get it to pass my inspection after 3 attempts, so have stripped the paint and will try for the 4th time tomorrow.
Were you able to reuse your cage clips or did you find a decent replacment? Most of mine were in poor condition and broke when I was taking the cage apart.

Just beautiful, and I love the stepped motor casing in the side view. Wish I could hear that thing running.
