Although I am close to finishing the restoration on this Vorty beast, think I will set this one aside for a while and tackle the remaining later. After 5 repaints of the blade, frustration finally sat in after an accidental "bump" left a nice 2" long scratch on an otherwise decent paint job. Bummer!!!
I assembled it to the point of checking out all my rewiring job and at least it runs perfect. Below are a few pictures along the way.

Wow Paul!...based on your avatar..... I had the impression you were some redneck cowpoke. After looking at your pictures...... I feel like trailer trash.
Hey Paul....did you take a picture of your motor tag? Your motor looks exactly like mine dude. Is your motor a 120/230 either or?

Russ, Did not take a picture of the motor tag, but recall it is dual voltage, currently wired for 120. I remember your Vorty pedestal picture (original as I recall) and looked like my fan is identical to yours. I noticed Stan's is similar, but has some differences such as a side pull switch vs. the toggle switch on the rear cone.

Well hot Tamales there Paul.....you are making me feel a whole lot better. Check your motor housing tag on top to see if it states 110/120 voltage. When I posted my Vorty way back when, there was someone in doubt that the motor was original based on my tag stating 110/120 voltage and a dual voltage motor. If your tag on top of the housing states 110/120 voltage, and has a dual voltage motor........that must of been the way they came from the factory. Mine is a Cat. FM24M1. And yes....mine HAD the levolier in the back of the bullet. Attached Image (viewed 114 times):

| Paul, don't give up yet, that fan looks great! My cage clips were sent with the cage I received from Adrian, but I know Steve Cunningham was having some made, you may check with him.

Got to the point I had to walk away a bit to regain composure. Certainly not giving up, just having an issue with the blade. I will eventually get a pass on the paint even if it takes 20 attempts.
Russ, Glad I could make your day....Cat numbers are identical. Mine too is FM24M1 and tag states 110/120 volts, so looks like these are as they came from the GE factory.
