| Randy go to the info section on the website homepage, click on restoration & repair, in the how to section you will find an article on removing blades from emerson fans. Good luck, the 29645`s are fun fans to work on. Craig.

| That's all there is to removing a blade? Piece of cake! Problem is with (edit: "most") brass blade Emersons is that they didn't put a hole in the rotor to catch a screw driver, etc. But your video Howard is good. Fan is, I think, a 1956 model. I have a brass blade 73648 that has a hole for locking the rotor + the little pits in the rotor for locking it with a screwdriver. this is the model without the capacitor. no suffix letters.

I have 4 29646 emersons one (the oldest ) has no hole so i had to slighty angle the screwdriver to get it to bite in and fortunetly the blade was not on real tight .

A trick which helps with stubborn blades is to drip some WD40 on to the leather washer (where the blade hub meets the rotor). This will loosen the old oil residues and has made stubborn blades much easier to get loose.
Remember to turn the blade clockwise to loosen (same direction they turn in).
