ok as you all remember my question about the bondo on the base. what I did was scrape as much of the rust that I could off it,  and I put just a bit this time. I sanded the excess off and I finally got to put her back together today. what a pain it was as I had the wires crossed the first time and she ran backwards.:hammer: But then I got it right the second time and it runs great and very powerful on all 3 of her speeds. so tell me what you guys think, I hope I did a good job on it. it was so sad in the beginning with rust and pitting that it was crying for a makeover.

Most Excellent job Peter. I definitely agree with Ron J. , never any chest pains while working on fans. There's been a few fans that caused pain in another part of my anatomy though. Keep up the great work!

thank you all for your support, although my ankle is still swollen from the base falling and hitting my ankle while i was scraping the base with a brush weal from all the rust. I didnt think it was going to look this great in the end and man is she powerful. when i got the fan I never tested it all the way on her 3 speeds. all i did was just listen to hear if there was that humm. and when there was, I knew thats there was a chance to restore her. if you look at the stator I put a picture of, you can see that it mostly rusted there. but when I took it out of the houseing you could clearly see there was a water line all the way up to the stator so you know it was submerged at one point in its life. man if these baby's could talk I think most of us would die listening and not eating or drinking water cuz the stories are so good!

After seeing this miraculous transformation of this fan Peter I have no doubt that you will finish up your pancakes to a like condition. Don't let them fall on your ankle.

Dood never again that was and accident waiting to happen!!! and to think It only hit me because i didn't want to break on the concrete so I put my foot there not thinking it was gonna hit my ankle first. next time I'm going to work on a hard surface and the base secured not between my legs. now for my next project, or rather projects with all the fans I have that need attention. but this 19648 took the cake for an extreme makeover home edition, LOL

just think the stator was that bad you can only think what the motor cover looked like on the inside. I am so glad I finished it, now to move on to my CF-20 which needs everything that a motor would need to complete it.

you know at first I did'nt like it because of how much room it took up being do big, but now I like the way it turned out and it makse such a great impact where ever I put it. and when I turn it on it sounds like and airplane getting ready to take off, or mabe its because it does'nt have any rubber grommets on the base like the rest of my collection. LOL

Peter, You can get the reproduction grommet feet from Darryl Hudson and then you wont have to worry about slippage or marring of your furniture and they''ll look like the originals.
