I am out of town and found two 16" DC Westy stamp steels in the same pile.  One says 100-115 volts with a last patent date of 06.  One says 100-125 volts with a last patent date of 18.  The earlier one has a brass cage.  The later one has a G.E. late teens steel cage on it with G.E. steel struts....someone cobbed the badge. :D NOW...here is the good part...BOTH....have micarta blades on them.  I can look at an Emerson type number and....."BING"..... I can see the fan..and a time period. :gears :clap: Now...if I look at a Westy style number..... all I can see is to many digits. :down::lame  I hope Steveo takes the time to memorize all them there Westy style numbers and can tell me just what I have without a picture. :tumbs

Now...for my question...why in the h ell would I have a micarta blade on a brass cage fan?  Why would anyone take a brass blade off and put a micarta blade on?  These fans have years of crude on them dudes. :up:  If anyone messed with them it would of had to be when they were making bathtub Gin. :tease

Russ, you're life just revolves around fans. Where do you come across so many different ones?

The Micarta must have been a later replacement for a possibly damaged brass blade. OR...someone thought the deep pitch of the Micarta would more more aire. Who knows? Oh, who knows all the Westy Style numbers? No I said I but Bill Voigt seems to have a great grasp of them. I, too, see too many numbers for them to mean much.

Did you check the badges for the "micro dates". Vas be they? Are you taking your new finds home with you? Photos???

The model with the last patent date of 18 has multiple "micro dates".  The brass cage and struts on the earlier model are undamaged.  What doesn't fit to the "possibility" of the micarta blade "belonging" is the micarta blade patent...I think? :wondering:

And my life does not revolve around fans.  Fan blades revolve Steve...My path in life just takes me to them. :D

Pssssst.....both headcords are....undamaged! :up::clap:

I haven't seen a tag with more than one "micro date". Can you post a photo?

I can't post anything but words dude, I'm outa Dodge.  Wish I had a camera, saw a large belt driven vintage wall ventilator with a Allis Chalmers power plant. Not my cup of tea,  but Andrew Block would be on it flys to poop. :up: The boys were using it to suck paint fumes(auto body). :D
