I ran across one of these today with no blade irons. Are these G.E. CFs easy to find irons for? The thing weighs a ton just the way it is. I left it, but could still get it. Still had a switch in it.

Russ, irons pop up on eBay from time to time. Sometimes, they have the original blades. One with a working switch is more valuable than one without. But because they're plain and not ornate, they're a "low dollar" ceiling fan. But they're tanks and work great.

OK Evan, thanks, I'll go save the boat anchor from the iron pile. I think I can roll it out the storage building out on the dock and roll it off the edge down into the trunk. Then we'll see what our Buick rear end is really made of. Last edited on Wed Jul 1st, 2009 07:30 pm by Russ Huber

Hey Evan, I went and bought the G.E. ship anchor and saved it from certain death dude. I don't know about this thing..... so I need your help....OK? Here is what I would like to ask of you. When you see the CORRECT set of irons on the bay for this lump of iron give me a heads up...will ya? I don't want to mistakenly purchase a set of high standard Emerson brackets and accidently put them on this thing. Thanks! Last edited on Thu Jul 2nd, 2009 02:28 am by Russ Huber

I made two trips...the first trip had six antique cf's, and the second trip had seven cf's. I spread the weight evenly around the car by putting most of them in the back seat (with the seat cushion covered, of course).
And there were 3 GE's in the batch! They are die hard ceiling fans, that's for sure.

| I bought a local estate years ago. Not all, but the ceiling fans. I sold Oak Leafs, etc. I had a lot left over and wanted them out. A guy from Louisiana drove over in a rented Camry. I think we loaded over 20 ceiling fans in that car. He was low-riding when he left.
