My family also had a few. My mom had two of them much like one of the ones I own now, both of them suffered an unfortunate fate of falling down the stairs and ending up with cracked or broken blades. My grandmother used to have three of them. I was given one of them that stopped working but never found out what happen to it when I was younger as it disappeared, one of the other ones is unknown and the last one still operates flawlessly today.

That stinks.

Despite these machines being plastic, they are very well built.

the second one you show with the bar across the middle of the central emblem also came with smoke blades and a black accent in that emblem and with coffee blades and a brownish accent on the emblem. I used to sell them  and had all three colors lined up, plus 16". I remember when my Panasonic rep told me the manufacturer of the original (Timco? maybe?) said the newer multi colored versions we being made by a Lasko vendor that wasnt as good. Still way better than the junk today.

You are correct. Lasko made fans for Panasonic and then Panasonic had their own. I have one of the dark grey Panasonic fans with the "shutter" style badge and also the brown type that is almost exactly like the blue one listed.
