If anyone makes a deal with Jerry, L'll pick the fan up in Dallas, and bring it back to Houston, free of charge.

I just passed on a "unrestored" Westinghouse tank motor fan at an antique shop one week ago not nearly as sweet as Jerry's that was firm at $150.00. Jerry is a good ole' boy that shoots it straight at you. Fact Jack.

Greetings from Singapore...

If I may ask, can this fan be converted to run with 220V?

Thank you.

You can buy 110vac to 220vac converters, but I believe they run at 50 hertz overseas.

In New Zealand we use 220v, 50hz.

All my American fans seem to run ok using a step down converter. Having said that I haven't had the chance to directly compare how they perform on natural 110v voltage supply.

We use 220V in Singapore.

Besides using a step-down transformer, is there anyway an electrician could do some direct conversion in the motor assembly to accept 220V directly from the main supply?

Apologies for the question as I know nothing about electrical stuff but I should be wiser after this.

Thank you in advance...alex

You woudl have to have an electric motor shop rewind the motor and possibly the speed coil. I have no idea what the cost would be but I dont think it's very cheap to do and of course this also permanently alters the fan so it will never be 100% original again.

I think a step down transformer is the most cost effective option. Here in the US most of us that have and use 220V fans on our 120V system just use a transformer.
