I have no idea how old this thing is, but I have had it for around 20 years, and I am not even sure where I got it.  It was working fine until today when the rubber bushing that holds the blade in place decided to come apart.  I spent about three hours on the phone calling GE and went through about a half dozen phones numbers they kept giving me.
:violin:
Yes, I know it is a terribly sad story.
I will be grateful for any assistance anyone might be able to render.

Thanks,
Danny

I just took 4 shots.

I can take more if you need them.

The part in the foreground is the bad part.

You may have a difficult time finding that part. A possibility might be a heater hose or some such at an auto parts supply house but you've got the problem of finding a part with the correct inside and outside diameter plus you'd have to buy the entire part unless it was something sold by length.

An acceptable alternative might to simply wrap the shaft with tape till you reach a snug fit on the outside diameter. Tape possiblties would be the sort used for golf clubs or tennis rackets as well as the old stand buys of friction tape and -  gulp - duct tape.

I assume the 'O' ring would then hold the blade in place. Most well stocked harware stores have an array of O rings from which to choose.
