Need to buy a Stator please help

I can't figure out why mine just hums and smokes but i don't want to worry about it totally burning out, so I just though I would ask if anyone has a junker that has a working stator and could sell me there's to fix mine. thank you guys please let me know.

Peter,

   The only time I have had an Emerson fan hum and smoke was when it was wired incorrectly.

you know what? I though it was that to but later found out that the stator dad been put in backwards causing it to do that. then I had noticed that some of the windings inside were torn but surprised once I turned it around that it ran perfectly on all 3 speeds. whats up with that? I though once that if some of the windings or even just one was torn that's it, you needed to get another or have  it rewound and it would be no good and you couldnt use it?
