| Hello to everyone! I got me another one that I am working on - it's a Westinghouse 16-A-3. Pretty good shape, except for the wiring. Right now, I am just waiting on some parts, but I do have a question. Two of the three wires coming from the coil were broken off when I pulled it apart, and don't have any clue as to where they would go. The third wire is still connected to the switch, and I assume the other two coil wires connect up to the switch at the same point. I say this because there is one soldered contact on the switch that has no wires on it right now, and both of these wires were pointed to this particular contact before I removed anything. If I can get some insight on this, I can possibly complete a wiring diagram on this fan and post it. Thanks, Andy...

Bill, my apologies for not being complete in my information. Here is the information you requested:
Westinghouse 16-A-3
Style 1137195
Serial BL
I got to looking at the coil and the switch tonight, and it appears to me that there were two coil wires going to the Load 2 terminal on the switch. This would mean that the Load 1 terminal would just have the white wire going out, the Load 2 terminal having the two outside coil wires, and the Load 3 terminal having the middle coil wire. This fan also has a "sardine can" capacitor which, according to the labels I affixed to the wires prior to disassembly, would be connected at 2 points: first, to the red wire going to the motor, and second, to the green wire coming from the motor and the white wire coming from the Load 1 terminal of the switch.
I pulled up the wiring diagram off the website for the 12 inch Darth Vader today trying to figure out the electrical schematics. The diagram and the wiring of my fan are different as there are five coil wires on the 12 inch and only 3 coil wires, all black, on my fan.
This has been somewhat frustrating to me, as I am just a novice in this hobby. Most of the fans I get are in pretty good condition and just need re-wiring. It seems to be my luck that the models I get are ones for which no wiring diagram exists. In addition, I am amazed that the wiring schematics are so diverse, even for same numbered models.
I will try to get my wiring schematic drawing into the computer tomorrow and post it for review. It will be better to have it right instead of having it wrong and getting hurt.

Randy Rohr might be able to add info here...he re-wired my 16-A-3 16" Vader and it runs perfectly!
