The wife and I went antiquing today, and I stumbled on a few goodies. The guy had an entire back room full of junk, and about 15 or so fans. Most were in pretty bad shape, but I did grab three from him. Also passed on a Silver Swan that I probably should've grabbed too. Anyhow, here they are:
8" Emerson Junior in great shape and spins like a top!
Emerson 28646; in absolutely incredible shape
This one was a cool find, although it kind of hurts my feelings. I got it thrown in basically for free so I grabbed it, but I don't really know what I'm going to do with it. It's got a bad case of broken and missing parts (no switch, power cord, broken oscillator). It'll probably make a good parts fan if I ever come across another one. This is the first brass cage fan I've owned.

| Those little 8" Emmy oscillators are NICE fans. Good find! And the 28646 is a bit uncommon being a non-oscillator.

That's kind of what I thought, but I wasn't sure. Any idea how likely it is that I'll find the parts I need for the Westinghouse?

| You can probably find the parts but it might take a parts fan as a donor. The problem with fixing up old fans of moderate value is in the end cost. Better to buy good complete fans to begin with or get needy fans really cheap. You've got what look to be an excellent blade and cage on your Westy. I'd look for a good motor and base that is missing either a good cage or blade and think that might be the best, easiest, and cheapest way to go. Bill Voigt in San Francisco may have parts to help you; you'll have to check with him.

I will have to look I may have a Westinghouse that has the parts you need. Wow I just noticed you are in Peoria, I am about 25 mi. East of you.
Nice fan, I have one just like yours. It moves lots of air but I don't use it because even on low it runs at a high RPM and it's far from quiet but a nice looking fan.

| Is that a crack in the westys motor housing, if so use a little JB weld in the crack and sand it down with sandpaper. thats what i did with my pot metal hunter century.
