Just a week from this coming Friday , we'll convene in the Ozarks and see if we can get some stuff fixed. Steve Sherwood , one of our members of the board of directors will be there sharing his restoration skills. For those of you that have never been to a workshop  , this is an incredible opportunity to see some of the fan masters at work.  Steve can show you step by step how to get your good enough pancake fans to look as good as this......  and if there's too much paint on the blades , we're counting on a repeat appearance from balancing wizard John McComas to smooth out and balance those drips.   Don't miss this one , you'll be sorrry

I'm not Geoff, but there are also buys & sells fans and parts.

Have a couple of drinks, shoot a couple of GE's, throw a few cats on the bonfire... pretty much standard fare...:D

I have a designated driver....

Lots o folks bring fans to sell , parts to sell, I still have a table full of my Father in Law's fans left over from fanfair that are good fans , common non brass fans but available cheap. Paul Graves will be thrashing through the barn the week before to reassemble a few really good fans that will be for sale too.

The Eskimo Kid is bringing chili for Friday night and I've got a sack full of Jalapino peppers that we're gonna stuff with cheese , bacon wrap & oven cook till they're soo good you won't be able to eat just one. No excuse for sinus trouble Friday night. There's been a touch of the common flu floating around these parts but no swine flu epidemic. We'll have tonic for anyone arriving with a nagging cough , Kim Franks has assured me of that. :wondering:

All in all , looks to be a fabulous fun filled, friend filled, fall fan extravaganza and that's the effin' truth. Did i mention that I still have just a bit of straightening up to do ??

Wife and I are packing up the Georgiamobile and heading out on the 5th.  Be our first time for Harrison and looking forward to it after years of drooling over the pictures of past fan meets.

FANtastic, got clearance from the doctor today so I'll see everyone at Harrison next week.

Just a reminder - I'm going to be taking pictures for the fan mag, so please don't anybody reveal the secret hand signal

I'll be bringing my blade riveting and coil rewinding equipment for those who are in need or want to learn.

Hey Brother Geoff, would it bother you if I brought one of my son's D8 Cats and cleaned up your work shop a slight bit?? I've got a lowboy so I'll have to park on the street, but that way I can widen your drive on the way up so McComas won't drive over your trees & scrubs..

Looking forward to being with all the great restorers and STEVE!!!! Since Tom Newcity is gonna make it I'm bringing a trailer load of 29646s for him to restore for me while we're there. Really great to see he's up and running again. Also super that all my routy friends are coming over, should be a blast.

Hey Jerry, there's one fantastic restorer that will be noticeably absent, although some of his work will be on display. Are you still bringing that fantastic BMY? I'm bringing my fantastic pancake and I think 'ol Steve Sherwood is bringing his fantastic Emerson....Somebody also said you were supplying all the beer next weekend......you are one h e l l of a guy......Here's the back of Geoff's barn, where the real action happens.......

Hi Geoff, You better get the leaf rake cleaned up again if we are going to have hot dogs again. Steves chili will probably be thick enough to put on hot dogs and buns.

I will bring the new official AFCA pointing stick to keep McComas and Newcity from getting in trouble.

Jerry Henry told me to tell you guys to bring plenty of nickles and dimes. I dont know what he has up his sleeve.

Looking forward to a good time. See you soon. Dianne wants to know if any other wives are coming and will Linda be home?

Linda will be here , Jackie Mc Comas and JeanAnn Foster I think will be here , rumor has it that Pres Will and Kat Guidry will make an appearance. I think that a shopping spree at Branson Landing might well be inevitable for those interested on Saturday.

Kim, you are one "FANTASTIC" guy, so yes I'll bring my FANTASTIC BMY, which by narrative is BREATHTAKINGLY restored to AWESOME perfection. That's the good news, but I must tell you that altho I'll certainly supply everyone their Buds & Millers, I can't find your brand anywhere in Arkansas. Guess down our way OLDE MISS FROTHINGSLOSH brew is just not a biggie! I know you once told me that it is "brewed from hippity-hops on the banks of the Upper Crudney in Lower Slabbovia", so your best bet is BYOBeer.  AND, if you wish to enjoy some of Doc's Mountain Medicine you best bring a quart of high octane gas to chase it with as its mighy hot going down, of course after the first quart you'll not require a chaser as you'll be on a couch in the barn praising the FANTASTIC restorer.

Be sure & Bring some of your Built to Last Fans...............

I sure do like drinking "OP" beer, but if I have to bring my own swill, I guess I can do that. As Far as bringing any "Built Next to Last" fans, I've looked high and low...mostly high....and there ain't the first one to be found around here. I mean, with the fishing industry, gun ranges, and Emerson drops, they are scarce in these parts. See ya in Arkansas.

I just checked Google earth and panned the region around Capps Road in Harrison.  I enlarged it just enough to make out the detail and looks like it's gonna be some bonfire and weenie roast.

The weatherman has promised a break in the clouds and torrential rains long enough to dry out that stack of wood. But you know how good he is about keeping his promises:wondering:

Just don't let John get near the fire, we wouldn't want him melting another pair of glasses.

I think I need a remote controlled wiener roaster!

It needs to go forward and backward and rotate the wiener!

...Maybe I'll just get a welding helmet....

It would definitely be cheaper than replacement lenses!!

Okay, if it ain't going to rain, then I'll wash my truck before I head up. Probably won't have any room for fans, but does it really matter????
