Pictures are to come soon but this thing is beautiful for its age! I am not doing a SINGLE thing to this fan except maybe a headwire replacement to get it running. It is awesome!!!  Attached Image (viewed 320 times):

Same, it looks like it may be a headwire issue but hopefully I can fix that. Are these 3 conductor? I didn't even touch it yet.

| No idea on the headwire Rob. Don't get too hooked on brass; it costs more than aluminum, pot metal, and steel but the gleam of brass can be addicting.

I believe that time has come and gone my friend. Brass is indeed addicting, I wish I could afford some of them. I am sure some people here have noticed that the Westinghouse Tesla is my favorite.

Here she is running. I was surprised when this thing took off and how smooth it ran after some slight adjustments. Best $24.00 I spent in a long time.

Ah...the gleam of well polished brass....... I have maybe two brass fans where I have polished the blades. Rob, I hope you will give the original patina on your fan a chance to grow on you. The fan is very pretty and clean the way it is. Maybe a gentle cleaning will help some. Polishing the brass will make the brass gleam like any other fan out there that has been polished while leaving the patina intact leaves the fan as a unique individual. In the long run you'll do what you want to but I always encourage to leave such nice patina intact. That is a pretty fan with it's early cage badge and steel wrapped cage from an early era.

Well, earlier than you Rob. Guess would be 1917-20 but Century dating isn't my forte. I wonder if some of the gallery fans are dated correctly and have seen no catalogs to confirm dates. Pretty blade shape and a nice older style cage with old badge makes for a great looking pot metal  fan. Now all you need is  to make it

| Rob, some photos of the back, side, motor badge and switch handle please? Is there a "Model" number on the tag? If so I wonder if the number might just be the year model. I have photos of a 16" pot metal wonder Century with smaller round badge but still with the wrapped steel cage. I'd like to know Century dating better. Anyone out there have any clues? I think your Century might have the nicest looking "face" of all Centurys. You got a sweet deal and fan there.

Thanks! I was so worried that it was going to get trashed in shipping but I guess the fan angels watched over this one. Damn UPS... 
Definitely one of my more favorited fans, even if it is pot metal.

| I have some skeletals that have what looks to be original wiring in poor conditon: black sheath over tan or cream twisted wire. Power cord looks the same as the headwire and is twisted pair with the sheath over it. You might use the three wire with sheath that Sundial has for both power and headwires.

Come on Rob and others...let's clean up and simplify the QUOTEs. If you don't know how just PM me, call me, email me or shout real loud here and I'll help you. Imagine trying to read a book if so much was quoted and re-quoted material. You only need to quote one person and often only PART of what they said and not other's excessive quotes which have no or little bearing on a post. Sorry to bug you all about such a trivial matter but I don't understand WHY so many of you quote quote after quote after quote, etc. Thanks,

I don't see any need for more than one person quoted in a post. Is it not knowing how to "edit" the quoted material, lazyness, or what that fills up so many posts with gibberish in that white quote box?

We practically had to, there were times when it got outta control and started messing with the way the pages displayed....I've since installed a script that trims out any sequential quotes over three from the post automatically as well, so the poster doesn't have to bother with it
