Dave,  Knapp Monarch made many things like toasters, popcorn poppers, etc. during the 1930's thru the 50's. Post a photo so we may see what your talking about.

I have a few 40's era Knapp Monarch fans, they have a very classical Art Deco look to them.

Here's a pic of my 12" K-M pedestal, it has overlapping type blades and runs quietly -
